SIRAJUDDAULLA(1949)
  It is a patriotic historical drama depicting the beginning of British governance in India due to treachrous of activities of some of the commanders of young Siraj. Young Siraj came on the throne of Murshidabad after the death of his maternal grandfather Alivardy Khan. At that time the English traders were constructing their fort in Calcutta which Siraj never permitted. Siraj led his troupe to Calcutta and destroyed the fort. An English army under Clive managed to lure some of the Generals of Siraj and on some false pretext defied the Nawab’s authority. At the famous battle of Plassey in 1757, Nawab’s Chief General Mirjafar betrayed causing his defeat and flight. Later on Siraj was captured and killed. Mirjafar became the Nawab and the authority of the Britishers was established in Bengal.
