  This drama depicts the events which took place during the years between 1942 and 1947. General mass rose against the brutality of British rulers in 1942.There was great disturbance in the country. It was a people’s revolt contrary to the rising of 1857 which was an armed rebellion by the native rulers and the sepoys. The disturbance of 1942 was crushed, but the flames of fire were alive. Efforts to attain freedom continued. A loyal petty Zamindar was so unkind to his peasants that he flatly refused to share with even a drop of water from his river for their dying crops. But his Rani was not so. Based on peasants’ problem and communal harmony.
