Eminent historical playwright, novelist, drama director
Among the many foreign travellers who came to India during the Mughal period, Niccolao Manucci of Venice was one who left memorable account of this country. He came when emperor was reigning . Manucci saw the reigns of Emperor Aurangzeb and his son Bahadurshah. His original travel accounts were translated into English, much later, by Lord Irvin and the published from London in four volumes containing about 2200 pages. Chaturbhuj after years of labor, abridged and edited this important text and brought out in one volume with some changes. The importance of this book lies in the fact that it has been originally written by a foreign who himself was an actor of the political drama enacted that time.
