The mission of Lord Krishna was the establishment of a kingdom of righteousness on earth. India was then suffering from a plethora of power blocks and martial spirit exhibited by diverse principalities. On instigation by his daughter Asti at the killing of his son-in-law Kans, Jarasandh attacked Mathura again and again only to face disgraceful defeat. Krishna shifted to Dwarika, married Rukmini. At the great Rajsuya Yagna of Indraparstha, Raja Shishupal raised his head against Krishna and is killed. Yuddhisthir is acclaimed as a unrivalled Emperor and Lord Krishna was declared to be the Puroshottam.
