  Aurangzeb was the third son of Mughal Emperor Shahjehan. Among the entire brothers he was the most intelligent, courageous, daring and brave. Shahjehan loved his eldest son Dara and wanted to make him his successor. So he kept Aurangzeb away from the capital. This was a boon in disguise for him as he had plenty of opportunities to gain experiences of warfare, administrations and resources. He had an eye to the Mughal crown. He feigned friendship with his younger brother Murad and marched to Agra when Shahjehan fell ill. After many ups and downs he became the emperor and ruled for about 50 years. This book is based mainly on the text of Manucci and Dr.Jadunath Sarkar.
